A cow’s right against discrimination

I notice cows every day. At the grazing ground near SG Highway, resting on each other or just standing, looking beyond the nothingness of life.

I always look for a pair of white mother cow and her calf. They are said to be a good omen. Otherwise, I honk at them because they occupy the entire lane that I want to cross to get to my grazing ground, I meant my office.

And then I have no other option but to drive in the potholes. These cows walk on the good portion between potholes while the cars and bikes have to go in the potholes. It feels like some kind of ritual.

But on 05.09.2021 I was very kind towards the world. It was early morning. My travel and breakfast were arranged by other humans. I felt privilege in having two seats to myself on the bus trip to Bakor organized by Flatandflatmates India.

So I smiled at the two cows, one sitting and one standing in the fields, the sun rising above them and they, like me, enjoying the cool air.

I realised I was so nice to them. And I am so mean to the city cows.

Didn’t we learn, “गाय हमारी माता है।”

All the outrage to protect cows, the news articles all mention some village or town. Never a city. Because city cows are honked at, like we humans honk at each other, “just get out of the way!”

The day I drive a bus tour, I will make sure to stop and force the people to look at the pair of white cows, only. Rest of the cows are a class below. Not clean. If you need to understand my disgust, just think of the humans different from you and your prejudice behind that dislike.

‘Look, there is a pair of white cow and her calf.’ It’s a good omen for you.
